EVAULATION OF MY PRODUCT

I think my product could possibly compare well to a professional product, as from the questionnaire I found out what types of magazines they read and used the top answer to help me with the layout of my magazine. For example in my magazine I included a sky line at the top of the magazine front cover, as many of the kerrang magazines have a sky line which usually advertise something that people can win, something they can win in the magazine, or an important article that is included in the magazine, which I involved in my magazine. I also included a strap line in my magazine at the bottom of the front cover which was also about another article in the magazine. I also placed the main stories head line across the main picture in the magazine which is what they have on every kerrang magazine. I also made sure that my magazines main image was large are powerful the same as karrang do. I have also kept to a four colour scheme have used the same colours as karrang does, black white red and yellow, this will help my TA feel that this magazine it like what they would usually read which is karrang.

I think my magazine has an emotional impact in the picture, as I think that it is a powerful image, as I am trying to make her look ill from drug use. I did this so that people would wonder why she looks like she does, and to feel either feel sorry for her or angry that she let herself look the way she does.

In my questionnaire I asked people what magazines they mostly read and most people said kerrang and because I have used the same layout as kerrang I think this will attract my TA as they will think it will be the same as the magazine that they usually read. Also the on the front cover I included information that there will be free posters inside so this will make the TA want to buy the magazine if they like the bands who are on the posters. Also my main article is about drugs and because I have realised that many teenagers have taken drugs and not realised the consequences.

I asked Lisa Wilkinson what she thought about my projected and her advice was ‘I should have made the back ground of my main image a colour that would fit in to the colour scheme I picked’ now that it has been pointed out to me I realise that it does my magazine look a bit disorganised as the back ground is grey and my colour scheme is black, white, red and yellow.

If I were to do my project again I would have managed my time more carefully, and would of planned out my project in more detail. For example I would of tried to find the actual font that karrang use on their magazine to make mine look more realistic. I would also have made the backdrop a different colour when I was taking my pictures
