shutter speed experiments

to produce this picture i set my cameras shutter speed to 0.8", this makes the shutter speed take longer to close so that it captures the light that we are experimenting with.

in this picture to produce the heart we had to make the shutter speed slower to make sure that we got the full image in. we changed the shutter speed up to 6" which makes the cameras shutter speed slower so that it was easier to capture this picture.

in this picture we tried to write our names with the torch and we put the shutter speed up to 8" which makes it longer to take the picture and this helped us capture some of the writing we was trying to achieve.

photographic manipulation past production work

I have edited these pictures on Photoshop. on this picture I used the dodge and burn tool. I darkened the background by using the burn tool as I thought the background was too bright.

on this picture I used the unsharpened tool, to adjust the sleeves on her jacket and on her hair to make them stand out more so the people looking at the picture know that I want them to look at her first instead of the background.

shutter speed experiments

during this task we took pictures exspermenting with shutter speeds. on this photo i used a slow shutter speed and as you can see the pictures came out smeered and unvisiable due to teh fact she was spinning on the chair as i was taking the picture the shutter speed was to slow to capture this and then i realized that to maken this in to a clear picture i would have to make the shutter speed faster. for a person walking the shutter speed should be on 1/250 for a person running the shutter speed should be on 1/500, this is so we can capture the picture with out it looking blurred. i had this shutter speed on 15" which was not fast enough to take the picture.

when i realized i needed to make the shutter speed faster i then put it to 1" which still wasnt fast enough as it was still making the picture blurry, then i took some more pictures after doing some research to make sure that the pictures was not smeered and then went out side to take some pictures which the shutter speed on 1/250 to 1/500.

i took this picture with shutter speed 1/250 i then asked sophie to jump off a bench so i could capture her in mid air which is called freezing, this exsperement was sucsessfull as the higher the shutter speed the faster the pictures is taken so i was able to caputre sophie in mid air as she was jumping off the bench.
in this picture i kept my shutter speed on 1/250 as that is the speed you need to keep it on if you are trying to capture someone walking. i found these shots sucsessfull as tehy did not smeer or blur and i capture sophie walking through the park.

in this poicture i put the shutter speed back to 1/250 as sophie was stood still but i was trying to capture her whipping her hair backwards and i think this shot was sucsessfull as i caught the picture and her hair was in mid air.
